Sahitya Akademi Translation Awards Announced

India's national language academy, the Sahitya Akademi, announced its 2007 winners of its prestigious translation awards today. The winners will each receive a stipend of 20,000 rupees.

The winners and their languages are listed below; the diversity of languages in India will be impressive to citizens of most other countries:
